Nowadays, there’s no thing that can be considered as “free.” Every little thing has an amount that you should pay in terms of money or through other ways if you wish to have or own that particular thing. You will find it a hard time to save money for your future use.

Like in an auto insurance, it is not unusual if this cost $12,000 a year or even higher. But actually, it doesn’t necessarily have to cost this much. Though it might take a bit of work, it is possible to cut that insurance bill by a substantial amount.

The first thing is to shop around or get at least three price quotes. There are many way to get quotes, like calling via telephone, getting the quotes directly via internet, or calling your state insurance department as it may be able to provide you with a comparison of prices charged by the major carriers in your state.

The second one is to check insurance cost before buying a car. It is because insurance premiums are based on the cost, the cost to repair it, the overall safety record and the likelihood of its being stolen. You can often get a discount from insurers if the car you are buying has a great safety record or if it is designed to reduce the risk of death.

Increase your deductible. Higher deductibles will lower your insurance cost substantially.

Another way is to reduce the coverage on older cars. If you have one or more old cars, consider dropping the collision coverage entirely for it may not be worth if your car is worth ten time the premium. By contacting your bank’s auto loan department, you will find out the worth of your car.

Next one is to buy your auto insurance from the same company that has your homeowners insurance. All the major insurers offer both homeowners and auto insurance and will give you a nice discount if you buy both types of policies from them. If you insure several vehicles with the same company, you may also qualify for a discount.

Keeping a good credit record. Auto insurance companies are using credit information more often to price their policy. By paying bills on time, and by keeping your credit card balances as low as possible, you can maintain a good credit history. Be sure to check your credit record regularly so, if errors occur, you can quickly correct them immediately, thus, keeping your credit record clean and accurate.

With the aid of these tips, you could make save yourself enough cash to have nice holiday or even buy a special gift for a loved one.

How does Obama plan on lowering the cost of health insurance for everyone?
    Straight off of his website:
"Require insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions so all Americans regardless of their health status or history can get comprehensive benefits at fair and stable premiums."

Correct me if I’m wrong, but that would INCREASE the cost to insurance companies – which would in turn INCREASE everyone’s premium. Does this man not know how insurance works???

The president doesn’t make health policy, Congress does. He should be writing that bill right now while he is senator.

He plans to have the insurance companies bailed out in 8 years. About a 2 trillion dollar bailout will work.

He doesn’t plan on anything, why do people think he knows what he is doing…?

You are partly right but you ignore one very important fact… government can control the prices of health insurance. By doing so, they can actually make it so that by having more customers over all, the insurance companies make more money than now. This in return keeps profits high and thus lowers the burden of higher costs. Essentially there will be little to only positive change for the average employer.

Economics can be a bit complicated, but his plan is solid.

Oh he doesn’t really… that was just one of those election lies he tells so well. if we have this great insurance he talks about in four years.. I will eat my COMPUTER….

No, he can lie with the best of them.. but of course you do know his excuse for doing absolutely nothing in the next four years will be like every other president elect… Bush’s fault!!

That will get old in a hurry.. of course most of us won’t care.. we will be on the bread lines because of him and all the other idiots in Washington handing our futures over to Wall Street.

the same way the military does.
once again i will ask why not nonprofit insurance,?
if criminals are not allowed to make money off their victims pain and suffering then why do we allow insurance companies to do the same? no one should be allowed to make a profit off of something as important as your health problems, just like once upon a time we did not allow mercenaries to fight our wars for profit,
somethings should not be for profit but if you call yourself a christian then helping someone means you should not expect something back.

but if someone should pay for it then lets look back at the good old lawyers that you probably hate who where the ones that went after the big tobacco companies that lied about how dangerous and addictive their tobacco is and made them pay the taxpayers back for all those years we took care of the cancer victims that we the taxpayers had to pay for in one way or another.

and if you are looking for someone else to pay for this then how about the junk food industry?
i am sure they don’t tell us as to why they put addictive caffeine in a lot of their junk food.
and why did they put all that trans fat in their food even though they knew it causes health problems.

Too bad you chose to include only one small aspect of his plan. For your education, I’ve pasted the rest of it:

Create a new Small Business Health Tax Credit to help small businesses provide affordable health insurance to their employees.

Lower costs for businesses by covering a portion of the catastrophic health costs they pay in return for lower premiums for employees.

Prevent insurers from overcharging doctors for their malpractice insurance and invest in proven strategies to reduce preventable medical errors.

Make employer contributions more fair by requiring large employers that do not offer coverage or make a meaningful contribution to the cost of quality health coverage for their employees to contribute a percentage of payroll toward the costs of their employees health care.

Establish a National Health Insurance Exchange with a range of private insurance options as well as a new public plan based on benefits available to members of Congress that will allow individuals and small businesses to buy affordable health coverage.

Ensure everyone who needs it will receive a tax credit for their premiums.

Reduce Costs and Save a Typical American Family up to $2,500 as reforms phase in:

Lower drug costs by allowing the importation of safe medicines from other developed countries, increasing the use of generic drugs in public programs and taking on drug companies that block cheaper generic medicines from the market

Require hospitals to collect and report health care cost and quality data

Reduce the costs of catastrophic illnesses for employers and their employees.

Reform the insurance market to increase competition by taking on anticompetitive activity that drives up prices without improving quality of care.

And remember, the truth is a wonderful thing!

That is not paying for anyone’s health insurance, it is designed so you can’t be turned down, his plan that actually cover anyone is for children that are uninsured.

Obviously he does not get it. But I agree with that one point. There should be no "pre-existing condition" clause in insurance in today’s world where people change jobs all the time. I feckin’ hate insurance companies. But it is just a business.

Here is what he should propose. Instead of socialized health care, he should have state hospitals. Like what the military does. Offer to pay for a medical degree if the doctor or nurse is willing to sign a commitment to work for the state for X number of years. Those hospitals can be open to anyone without health insurance for a nominal fee.

It will not lower the health care cost, it will just give health care to everyone, including people who have no desire to work for it. Look at it this way if you don’t have a job you won’t be able to pay for the treatment anyways, whether you have coverage or not. Canada has universal health care and all you do is pay more for treatment and have longer waits to get treated to offset the debt of have a universal plan.

Hello, what is wrong with that???
WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING A HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IF SICK PEOPLE CANNOT GAIN ACCESS TO IT? I mean seriously use your brain. Not everybody was born into this world with a healthy body. Some people will develop illnesses gradually over time. Some may be more genetically conditioned to inherit certain conditions. What is your suggestion for that? Mandatory DNA health testing for all potential parents? Refusing medical treatment for all those deliberately choose to damage their health by smoking / drinking / or eating too much? That’s insane. Get a grip.

His plan is very much like the one Hillary tried to shove down our throats. It will fail for the same reasons.

He seriously needs to research how socialized medicine is working in other countries – then he would not be so impressed with it.
