Faster cars with lower insurance costs?

What are some faster cars available in the UK which have relatively low insurance costs.

I am 20 years old so cars such as Imprezas where the insurance is 4000+ is too much.

Are there any cars in the 1500-2000 insurance cost (3rd party fire and theft) which are usually cheaper to insure?

The Ford Focus ZX3 and ZX5 are sporty, have 5 speeds and handle great. Plus, they are known for being fast and are good on gas. Great economy car but age appropriate. You can get in that price range and they are inexpensive to insure. I have owned both and loved them!

    The citroen saxo vts is one of the fastest 1600 cc cars going and when lowered handle like a go cart,
    the vtr model has a much lower insurance premium but is only 8 valve instead 16 valve.
