i’m planning to buy a car next year.
it will cost around 11000 and i’m planning to downpay 5000.
so 6000 left.
and my dad wants to pay that 6000 with his credit card so he can put the car under liability instead of full coverage.
our family has 2 cars each under my parents’ names.
so what is the best way to lower the insurance for me
i’m 21 yrs old guy no accidents or tickets.
our insurance company said it would be about 1600/yr for me..
is that average?
is there a way to lower the insurance?

best way is to raise the deductibles.. then talk about lowering certain coverages or shopping insurance companies.

I live in New Jersey where the auto insurance is relatively expensive. However, I go to college in South Carolina where the auto insurance is a lot cheaper than in New Jersey. How can I get the cheaper South Carolina auto insurance? Do I need a South Carolina driver’s license to do this? Should I buy a car from a South Carolina dealership?

You get insurance from the place where you live. Period.

as a first car i’ve been told to get an old banger (something around 10years old no rust) low CC’s (engine size) in group 1 insurance but i don’t know what cars would be in group 1 (the lowest insurance cost) i’ve looked online for a list but not found anything substantial

what would you suggest

It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota… First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car – for example here – autoinsurance.maclenet.com

I have to buy a car and the insurance will be costing more than the actual car. Some factors I can’t change like the fact it will be my first year with a full GB licence, my gender, age, where I park it, etc. But when considering the car I will buy, what factors might lower my insurance costs? Keeping in mind my price range for the car is 450-900 pounds,
- what makes/models are hardest/easiest to break into?
- what security devices would make a difference to the cost of my insurance, and how much would they cost?
- what year of car is considered to be built more securely than in the past? (harder to break into…I understand older cars are easier to break into, but what is the general cut-off line of "old"?)
- style or colour of car?
- any other factors?

Groups1-20

Group 1 are the cheapest to insure.
Group 20 are the most epxenive to insure.

But before buying always get a quote.

I am renewing my auto insurance. I have a car with all kinds of great features like leather seats, upgraded stereo, sunroof, etc. Is there some way to insure it so if it gets totaled, I can buy a car of equal quality? Should I even get full coverage?
Thanks.

You need to get what’s called "Comprehensive" insurance and also what’s called "gap insurance" and that should cover it all.

I am looking to buy a new, or possibly up to about 3 year old, car for my daughter, soon to be 17, to learn to drive in. The car will be in her name and so I’m looking for something safe, but also as inexpensive to insure as possible.
Has anyone gone through this process recently and so can provide me with any experiences or advice generally?

I would save time and pay for professional tuition then buy a nice car when she passes. Intense courses can be very effective. If you buy a car don’t get a fiat cinqaciento as they are very poor in crash ratings. A vauxhall corsa 1.0 12 valve will be very economical to run and quite good in crash tests.
