Car and Insurance for Teen driver?

I’m 16, turning 17 this year living in Houston, TX
I have had my license since August of 2009 and Insurance twice from August to November I think, and from January I believe, until now.
I never had any accident, finished Driver’s Ed., and have 3.6 GPA.
I’m getting my own car now, and I’m looking for low price car with good reliability and low insurance cost. Which car and which insurance company would be the best for me? I’m looking for something cool, sporty. I can drive manual.

For whatever reason, every insurance company has a different matrix for their pricing, so if one company, say, Geico, is cheapest for a Nissan Sentra, another company like State Farm might be cheaper for the exact same driver, living in the same place, with a honda civic. Ultimately, shop around for the car, look for something a few years old, they will be cheaper to insure and buy, and then after you buy the car, shop around for auto insurance to see who gives the best rates. I don’t know how Texas is, but in Colorado, the GPA didn’t help with insurance for the company I went through in high school, so that’s something to ask about too. If you had a price range, it would be easier to answer this question, as far as what to look for. Also, generally speaking, something that is cool and sporty often has higher insurance rates than something that, well, isn’t. Also, get an idea of what fits your lifestyle. Do you have a lot of friends who would ride with you? If so, don’t look at a 2 seat or even a 2 door car, a 4 door will be more practical. It sucks after a while when you have to get up out of your own car to drop a couple friends off.

Which auto insurance companies will not cancel policy/raise rates if there is an accident?

I am comparing prices for car insurance. I have had State Farm forever. After talking to them and asking them what I should look for when shopping for car insurance is a policy that wont cancel you or raise rates if you have an accident. We have made claims in the past (storm damage and I hit a tree stump – no actual vehicle to vehicle accidents) and our rates have not gone up. Do other companies do the same? What about Traveler’s Auto Insurance?

this one will not cancel policy/raise rates if there is an accident http://finance.ebookorama.com/ukusa-selected-resources.php get a quote now it’s free

what is the best way to be an auto insurance agent and get licensed?

I need a midllife career change. I want to get my auto insurance license and to be trained. What options do I have?

I would call the large carriers, Allstate, State Farm, etc. They will hire a new agent and help you open an office if they think you have what it takes. You can even buy a book of business.
I would pick the company with the best training and the best mentor/sales manager.

Decent looking vehicle, good gas mileage, low car insurance? &Where to find good car insurance rates??

I filled out a couple quotes from esurance.com and allstate and i got like $2100 & $4100 premium 6 month payment. Does that mean its going to cost me that much for insurance for only 6 months? If so, that is insane. That would be $350-$750 dollars a month. That cannot be real. My dad gave me a quote from Allstate(thats what he has) and it was about $117.00/Mth for a Chevy Blazer for 18 Year Old First Driver. I am very new to the whole insurance thing so can someone just point me in a small direction to the lowest priced insurance with good plans. I would absolutely love to have an older car(oldsmobile, or between 60s&80s)But thats way to pricy, along with a nice sports vehicle. Because of the gas mileage and decent look, i would like a Chevy Convert Tracker. Just give me some advice if you know what im talking about. :)
Thanks Much

Excuse me for the mistake above. My fathers quote was from State farm(thats what he has).

Your father should put you on his insurance, and you pay him,you will both win with this situation if multiple vehicles are on the same contract…. that’s why the rate he gave you was so much cheaper. if your making payments on the vehicle, your creditor is probably requesting you get full coverge, which is why it’s so expensive for someone your age, if you own the vehicle out right, just get the minimum state requirements( Ca. is PL/PD )..you can also try progressive insurance, takes almost no time for a quote and they are open nearly 24/7…good luck.

What’s the best place to purchase both auto and home insurance from?

I’m buying a new home and changing my auto insurance carrier, what insurance company can offer me the best deal when it comes to providing both home and auto insurance in a combo package?

I use State Farm and have for a long time. They aren’t the cheapest, but have handled any claims without question and treated me very well. Good luck.

What things can a teen do to help lower the cost of car insurance?

I’m sixteen and seventh months, and plan on getting my license in about two months. But money is a little tight now at my house, and when my brother got his license on his sixteenth birthday (two years ago) the car insurance my parents pay for jumped an extra 1200 dollars a year.

So what can a teen do to lower the cost? IE; what type of car should I be driving, the best time to get my license, etc. I’m willing to hear any ideas. :)

Oh and if it means anything, my parents are with State Farm.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Get good grades so you can get the "good student" discount, put your name on your parents’ cheapest and oldest car only, and tell the company exactly how many miles a month you plan to drive and where.

What’s a low cost yet good car insurance co in California(northern)?

I have a gas hog and I am trying to lower my bills since
the economy slump and I am trying to find if my car insurance
is high and if I should switch and to who I pay every six months
681.00.Thanks in advance.

Hi! I used to run a Body shop in Northern California (Alameda & Contra Costa County) and I always found the same insurance companies easy to work with from a reapair point of view, were State Farm, Progressive, Liberty Mutual, Geico and Farmers. Insurance holds true to the "You get what you pay for" I always found the hardest Insurance company to deal with was Allstate (never wanting to replace your car parts with new ones, only used and aftermarket – that never fit). Hope this helps!

how can i find a low cost insurance for my car?what are deductable and premium?

i have a insurance for my car and i want to know if i can pay less for the same coverage (basic or minimum)

The best way to find car insurance is by checking with an independent insurance agent. They compare prices with several (sometimes many) different companies to find you the cheapest rate. And different independent agents offer different companies, so even if you check with several agencies in the same town, you could get very different results, so it pays to shop around. You can tell them what deductible you want (the higher the deductible, the lower your monthly payments will be), and they can compare the cost of several different deductibles for you as well. The deductible is the amount you pay out of your pocket if your car is damaged and has to be fixed. If you have a $500 deductible and your car gets hit and it will take, say, $2,000 to fix your car, you pay the first $500 and the insurance company will pay the $1,500 left. The word "premium" means the cost of the insurance. And the premium is based on many things, including the driver’s age, credit history, driving record, age and type of car. Like I said, it pays to shop around, and an independent agent does a lot of it for you. It beats going to any agent that only represents one company, like Allstate or State Farm, for instance. Also, the minimum insurance required by law does not pay to have YOUR car fixed in a wreck, it pays for the OTHER guy’s car to be fixed. To get your car fixed, you have to have "comp" and "collision" coverage also, and that’s when you pay a deductible. It’s good to also have Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist protection, in case someone hits you who doesn’t have insurance at all, or doesn’t have enough to fix your car, because then YOUR insurance will pay for it.
